Users Prompted to Download, Run, Open ".ica" File Instead of Launching Connection
We're looking after a client who uses the Citrix Xenapp web plugin to connect to RDP servers in a different country, which in turn are supported by a different company. Recently users, one by one, have started having issues connecting.
The RDP session makes the connection but will lock up approx. The Citrix client then crashes out with the following message:. We have confirmed when this happen the connection in Connection Manager is trying to reconnect and is sending frames to the destination but does not receive any. The above message suggests the. Resetting browser settings etc Issue occurs in both IE and Chrome. Issue occuring on both domain and local accounts on affected desktops. We have no information on what, if any, changes have occured on the servers, which are R2. We did consider the recent RDP patch Microsoft rolled out might be causing the issue but if so it should have stopped the connection straight away. What makes this very difficult is Citrix kindly deleted all of their "out of date" troubleshooting and knowledgebase articles to push everyone into using their newer solutions.
Thank you for your suggestions. However since making the OP we have tried all the above with the exception of changing the download location of the ica file.
There doesn't seem to be any available options in the software to make such a change? In addition we have tried using Citrix Receiver, including latest version 4. At this point all the tests carried out so far suggest the destination servers are causing this problem. The only technical update we have had from the team that supports them is that Citrix Receiver work at their end.
