Asked by Scott Gilliland. Also, Sage is published via Citrix application and a shortcut is created in the start menu and desktop. My issue is that now that I am using redirected static desktops, the Sage icon is unable to publish itself on to the desktop for users.
It continues to publish in the start menu and work. If I copy the shortcut from the start menu to the desktop it only works for that user who's start menu icon I copied the shortcut from despite the "target" and "start in" properties being identical. I need a way in which I can create a shortcut manually on the static desktop to launch the Sage application for these users. Are you trying to create a shortcut that launches a published app? Are you pointing all users to the same redirected desktop location?
Or does each user get their own redirected desktop location? How exactly did you redirect the desktop? Redirected via GPO, security filtered to redirect to desktop based off a security group. Basically its one desktop per department.
If you give each user their own desktop the default , then you can use Group Policy Preferences Shortcuts with Item Level Targeting to create shortcuts for only members of a specific AD group. I presume there is no way of creating a manual shortcut to launch an applicationwithout letting reciever do this?
You double click on the created icon, it seems to attempt to load something for a split second the does nothing, I know that is absolkutrly nothing to go off however nothing is logged in the receiver logs or event viewer to determine why it is not launching.
After spending many days on this the users then started reported the latest variation of the icon to be working, which was nothing different from the one I first had when creating this support thread.
